Justin Bonomo Chip Leader in 2009 WSOP 40th Anniversary Special Event

The players are just now returning from their dinner break during the first open event of the 2009 WSOP, the $40,000 buy-in 40th Anniversary Special event. When they sit finally all get seated and resume play they will be chasing Bodog poker pro Just in Bonomo who is currently the chip leader with 470,000 in chips.
Bonomo has had no easy seat draws throughout the day, sharing the felt with noted poker pros like Annie Duke (pictured above), Tony G and the player who is just a hair behind him on the leaderboard Antonio "The Magician" Esfandiari. At different tables, but lurking closely are Mark Seif and Chris Moneymaker (wait, what? who is that again? oh, right, yeah).
There are currently 150 players remaining and the mostr attention is being turned to todays "Table of Death," which includes Phil Ivey, Scotty Nguyen, David "The Dragon" Pham and Phil Hellmuth, who seems to be getting under Scotty's skin quite a bit at the moment.

Will Phil Hellmuth Win a WSOP Bracelet?

He has the most jewelery to prove it, and he’s easily the most motivated to add to that total. He came close a couple of times last year, and we know it’s only a matter of time before he wins another one.
This year the line on Phil Hellmuth winning his twelfth bracelet is +300. That may seem a bit confident when you consider the size of the fields, but he always seems to battle for a bracelet. If you think he can’t do it in ‘09 you can get -500 on your wager. This year may be a good year to bet on Phil winning his 12th; there are extra 10K events, plus the big 40K event, that will have much smaller fields for Phil to beat.

Poker Betting- Will Scotty Nguyen Win a 2009 WSOP Bracelet?

He said that if he didn’t win at least four million dollars this year that he’d retire from Poker and wouldn’t be seen in 2010. That’s a tall order for even the great Scotty Nguyen, but there are a few more 10K events and a special 40K anniversary event made for high rollers like Scotty. He won’t necessarily need to win a bracelet to accomplish this feat, but it will make it a lot easier if he does.

He’s been one of the best players over the last year, winning over a million dollars in multi-table tournaments since his $1.9 million cash in the H.O.R.S.E. event championship last July. And we know he’s going to play a busy schedule of events as he tries to compile $4 million in a month and a half.
